Guns

In general, I support the 2nd amendment as written. Government SHOULD NOT infringe upon citizen gun ownership.

In general, I feel that the 2nd amendment was written for a different time and should be re-interpreted for the modern U.S.

I believe that military style platforms like the AR-15 should be legal for eligible Americans

I do not think that military model platforms should be owned by civilians, but bolt-action, and pump, or revolver, etc are fine.

Civilians do not need to own guns these days. We have police and military.

Race Issues

Racism still runs rampant in this country. We should be doing WAY more social outreach public education and possibly even reparation money.

Race issues are a part of American culture because we are a melting pot. We should take care to not discriminate based on race/color and we are doing a pretty good job for the most part at this point

Racism is mostly a thing of the past and is typically overblown by the media now. Apart from isolated incidents we place far to much reaction energy on the RACE CARD

Abortion

Abortion is against my moral or religious beliefs. It should be illegal in all circumstances. There is always adoption or a better way then killing it

I agree with abortion being legal EXCEPT later term, like the 8th and 9th months unless there is a medical reason

Abortion should ONLY be allowed in cases on rape, incest, or the health of the mother. Other than that it should be illegal.

Abortion rights should NOT BE RESTRICTED AT ALL at any part in the pregnancy term including the last days before birth

On taxes

We are taxed WAY TOO MUCH. They need to cut back on big government waste and programs and give us a tax cut.

I think we are taxed about right. Nothing is perfect and could always use improvement, but we are about where we should be.

We should raise taxes, especially on upper income earners and big corporations to pay for more social programs and assistance for those in need.

On Health Care

We need to go to a GOVERNMENT BACKED health care system where everybody is insured publicly and paid for by additional taxes if necessary

We are in a good place now with a mix between private insurance and the Affordable Care Act. Most people seem to have pretty good coverage.

We need to DROP government sponsored socialized medicine and go back to the employer-based system that we had before. Obama-care is failed to me.

On Education

Our education system is FAIRLY GOOD as is with maybe a few exceptions we should tweak

Our education system is LACKING and we need to spend more tax money paying teachers, building schools, and smaller class sizes

Our education system is BADLY BROKEN and we need to spend MUCH higher budget dollars on it including the possibility of free college for all.

On Immigration

We need to expedite LEGALIZING all of those undocumented aliens already in the U.S. to get them the health care and education that other citizens enjoy here.

We need to provide a path to citizenship for illegal entrants but they should get behind those who have applied legally.

We should deport and close our borders. Then pick up with a legal entrant mechanism afterwards

On Social Equality

The capitalist system is best. Let American ingenuity build responsible companies with well-paying jobs to lift us up as a nation economically as it always has.

Capitalism is FLAWED AND UNFAIR to those at the bottom. Those at the top will always hold back those below and there is little chance for those below to work their way up any more

Our system is NOT broken like some want to say it is. But it needs to be modernized to better address current social and regional disparities. There is work to be done

On Religion

Religion is fine and we should allow religious freedom to be practiced by all religions. But it has NO PLACE in government

God is the maker of all, including our leaders. We should always be listening for his direction in all things

On Gay Rights

Lawful marriage and relationships should be between a man and a woman

We need to protect and nourish our LGBT communities more as they have been oppressed for so long. We need to put in stronger laws and protections for them than we have already

I don't care what you are fucking as long as it is not a kid or an animal. We should not discriminate or celebrate anyone based on sexual preference

On Foreign Policy

We need to use diplomacy MUCH more than we do before we interfere. We should NOT be sending troops anywhere unless we are directly attacked and in self-defense

Face it. We are the world superpower force for good and stability. This is our role and sometimes it means going in and deposing bad guys, or imposing our will on other nations. It's part of what we have to do as Americans an always will be. We need to KEEP a strong presence around the world for our own security.

The Death Penalty

Against - too many wrongfully convicted and there is always room to rehabilitate a person

Mixed - in extremely heinous crimes with overwhelming evidence, I guess so.

Yes - the death penalty should be used sparingly, but regularly where applicable

Prison Sentences

We need to get back to 3-strikes law toughness again and keep career criminals locked up. There are FAR too many criminals being let out to commit crime again.

Our prison system is totally corrupt and biased toward the privileged. We need to revamp it entirely starting with letting out everyone jailed for non-violent simple possession charges

The system needs to get away from private corporations and some possession sentences commuted. But I know that many plea deals resulted in a simple possession charge down from much worse charges.

Birth Control

Private insurance companies should set THEIR OWN policy on birth control. It is a free enterprise system

Private and Public health policies should be REQUIRED to offer low cost or free birth control by law

Public and Private health care should not offer birth control

Vaccination

Vaccinations should be a choice, but in general I trust them

Vaccinations should be mandatory. Don't send my kid to school with these crazy people

Vaccinations are way LESS effective then they want us to think. In fact some cause WORSE issues. I am generally anti-vax.

The Covid-19 "stay at home" order

Hell yes! This thing is the plague and we need to isolate until there are solid treatments and maybe even a vaccine

It's all blown WAY out of proportion and probably even influenced for political reasons. Let's get back to work and call them on this

I'm in the middle. We should carefully come out of isolation but keep the most at-risk safest. We need to get the economy going, but this thing is still serious

Domestic Oil Drilling, Coal, etc

We should NOT be drilling new wells, pipelines, or new mines and stripping our land of resources. We should be spending MUCH MORE time and money to find new renewable energy at all costs

Drill baby drill. We have a tone of untapped oil, natural gas, and coal in this country. We should be getting as much of that as possible to end our dependence on foreign oil

We should be doing a mix of pulling traditional oil, etc from American lands while we explore new renewable sources at the same time.

On Marijuana

Cannabis should be LEGAL everywhere medicinally and recreationally and regulated like alcohol

Cannabis should be legal everywhere as a MEDICINE and prescribed by doctors for things that it helps with

Cannabis should be illegal. It is not proven to show significant medical use and certainly is bad for society recreationally

On Taxation (for people, not corporations)

Our tax brackets are set up pretty smartly right now. Those who make more pay more, but it ISN'T unfairly more.

Higher income earners need to PAY MORE than they do now so we can fund some more opportunities for lower income people

Higher income folks are taxed UNFAIRLY just because they worked harder or went to school longer to get there. We should have more of an even and flattened tax rate system

Big Corp Regulation

America was built on the hard work and ingenuity of our industries. They should not run unchecked, but in general they need less regulation to spread their wings. Government regs are stifling innovation

Many large companies have exploited their positions with teams of accountants and lawyers. They need to be REASONABLY reigned in and regulated to ensure fairness. But not so much as to destroy their large profits if they are playing by the rules

Large corporations are the evil 1%. They are all environmental destroyers and have proven time and again that they do not care about their workers. They need to be heavily reigned in and taxed much higher

On Donald Trump's losing of the 2020 election

He came in and cleaned the swamp like he said. He should have gotten a second term.

Hell no! Terrible president. Would be a cold day in hell when he gets my vote

I don't care either way. Trump and Biden were both unfavorable candidates for me.
